Online Counselling offers convenient support from home or work.
Welcome! My name is Anna and I am a registered and experienced therapist. I run my own private practice under the name of Anna Anderson Therapy, providing a professional online counselling service to adult individuals over the age of 18.

Life is about connection and this is our fundamental need as human beings. This concept is central to how I experience myself as a therapist and the work I am passionate about, which is to support people in exploring and making sense of their relationships with others and their relationship with themself.
My core counselling training is in Transactional Analysis (TA), a theory of personality development. Our past and early childhood experiences can play a huge part in influencing who we choose to connect with and how we relate to ourselves and with others as adults. To put it simply, I look to support you in exploring how your patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving might be shaped by your past, and to support you in making sense of how these play out in the "transactions" you have with others. We can also explore together how you view yourself and how you see the world.
How does this help? Well, it could possibly lead you to breaking unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling or behaviour. You may feel better equipped to navigate challenges and/or uncertainty and feel you have greater clarity, where there may have before been a felt stuckness or confusion.

If you are reading this and thinking, this all sounds objective and organised and life feels way to messy, I welcome messy! I welcome your anxiety, your sadness, your anger, your grief, your joy, your jealousy, how ever you are feeling, I welcome these parts of you. Counselling with me provides a safe place to process difficult emotions and to speak your truth, without the fear of judgement or consequences.
Alongside understanding and navigating interpersonal relationships and relationship with self, I am experienced in working with individuals struggling with anxiety. My approach to this work is to focus on two separate elements. The first is looking at ways of calming the nervous system, so the body can feel more settled and safe. The second is looking at thoughts, beliefs about self, and habits, which might be fuelling the anxiety. Collaboratively we can find new ways to ease the anxiety and to gain a greater feeling of control.

I deliver counselling online, making it accessible across the UK and have been able to continue supporting some clients when they have travelled abroad for work or vacation. I offer a free 15 minute chat, via Zoom or telephone, which allows the opportunity to ask questions, decide how you feel, and provides a starting place to decide whether we might be a good fit to work together.
Supporting clients towards creating and enjoying healthier relationships with others and with themselves

'Therapy provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns. Your therapist will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.
A counsellor will not give you their opinions or advice or prescribe medication. They will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.'
Why Choose Online Counselling?
I have experience of working both in person and online, but have chosen to work with clients exclusively online due to its many benefits.
I use a secure platform to meet with clients via a video call. This enables us to see each other as you would face-to-face. Meeting with a counsellor online can be equally as beneficial and provide the results achieved by meeting with a counsellor in person. It can be accessed by using an electronic device such as a phone, tablet or laptop …. all you need is an internet connection and somewhere private, where you are able to talk safely, without being interrupted or feeling at risk of being overheard.

Modern life is busy! Adding something else into the week has the danger of feeling as though it might add to the stress you are already experiencing, or it may feel out of your reach.
