Break Up & Divorce

Anna Anderson Therapy

Breakups are painful and can be a huge event in our lives.  So much can be attached to the end of a relationship.  We may be grieving a future we thought we had with that person, or the time that has been lost to a lesson learnt too late.

Talking to friends and family can often be accompanied with the worry of burdening or boring them, or we may not wish to hear what they have to say about it all! However if we do not talk, we may take longer to heal.

I am here to listen to you and to assist in unpacking what has happened.  I can be here to explore with you the many questions you may have been left with, any uncertainties, and any issues you wish you understood.

Breakups can also lead to a lot of practical stress.  Moving into separate homes, making arrangements over the children and even changes and losses to friendships you may have both shared.  Having support while you navigate these obstacles can be reassuring and grounding.  It’s a step-by-step process to a new reality, to which you may possibly be struggling to create meaning or even to imagine.

Counselling can provide the holding you need to get through each day or week, as you make sense of the past, and possibly find peace and reconnect with yourself as an individual and not as part of the couple you were.
